Grow In Harmony With The World!
Once lumbermen were offered to take part in a competition. There were two volunteers who were asked to chop as much wood logs as they could during one hour. A judge gave them axes and sounded the start. The first lumberman plunged into chopping wood logs right away. The second one calmly took a grindstone and began to grind his axe. It took him half an hour to finish grinding. While the first one had a pile of wood logs chopped the second one just started chopping. He worked in such an easy and skillful manner that people around started to look at his work with admiration. As a result the second lumberman celebrated his victory.
It is not in vain that our forefathers used to say “hurry slowly” which means “well thought-out”. If you take it a rule for everything in your life: thinking through all steps, planning events and envisioning your actions than success will definitely knock at your door.
What is the process of personal development?
Sometimes people think that it is necessary to work hard to achieve many things in life. But the reality of life proves that gumption is the only thing that is needed. How to tune up your mind to stir your gumption to activity? It is necessary to grow and go beyond your life “running-track” trying to comprehend and feel the reaction of the world to our words and actions. Gradually escaping the hustle and bustle of this world you will be able to analyze yourself by communicating with like-minded people. In other words you will start to go ahead and grow your personality.
Like a hamster in an exercise wheel or trying to hurry slowly.
You may live like a lumberman from a parable who was zealously chopping wood logs without paying attention to things going around, and as a result losing the competition. You get to choose. Alternatively, you may read books, communicate with interesting people, attend trainings, and motivate yourself by working for a successful company and being the member of the team of like minded people. Gradually you will understand that if you have problems at work, in business or your family you should search for the reason inside of yourself to restore the harmony of life.
