Here are some practical guidelines on persuading people to your viewpoint and tips on persuasion techniques:

Use simple, clear and accurate words and concepts. Reason clearly and correctly:

- yield a point of a debate, if your opponent is right;
- keep using the arguments and concepts accepted by your opponent;
- reply to your opponent’s arguments first, and then put forward yours
- be polite whatever happens

Take into account the personality traits of your opponent:

- build your argumentation on the objectives and motivation of your opponent;

- use the terminology that is clear to your opponent;
- adjust the tempo and intensity of your argumentation speech to the tempo and intensity that is easily perceived by your opponent.

- deliberately slow down the tempo of conversation and repeat the most lame points of opponent’s argumentation.;

- indicate both the strong and the weak points of your argumentation. This tactic is the best when dealing with intellectual persons. Always summarize and draw conclusion upon your discussion.
